We are so often looking for answers for our bigger prayers that we sideline the answers to our daily prayers. We forget everyday miracles. The days that God protected you through so far, the food on the table, the battles you overcome in life daily, the money in the bank, safety from war and our precious family and friends, God-given health.
We are so blessed daily – that if we kept count, we could fill many, many miracle jars. On some days, it might be a plate of your favourite food, a good book, a lovely song, a beautiful sunset at the beach or a long chat with a good friend.
THANK GOD for the smallest things to the biggest – from today. Do not wait until you fall sick to appreciate good health, for the death of a loved one to appreciate what he/she meant to you, for a financial crunch to appreciate His provisions, for bad weather to appreciate the beauty of the clear sunny sky.
The things in your life that you were so excited about when God first blessed you—the baby, the new job, your spouse, the bigger house – could all be things which you have taken for granted or even complain about today! Bigger blessings mean more hard work, more gratitude and more maturity to deal with those. Seek to thank Him for the mundane. Not all of God’s children display that kind of maturity.
Complaining opens a door for the devil. Learn to thank God in everything. Then teach that to your children. A lifestyle of perennial joy and thanksgiving.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s (Psalm 103: 1-5)
Let HIM complete His work in you.
