There seems to be two kinds of people who react to misfortunes.
Some who think, “Lord, life is hard, I have suffered, why shouldn’t they too?”. And then who think, “Lord Jesus, I have suffered. Please don’t let them too”.
You and I can brag about being churchgoers, Bible-believers, even ministers. But if we do not control our thinking, we have failed.
There is a reason why the Bible reminds us to “Take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5) We need to monitor our thoughts throughout the day to identify lies, offenses or negativity.
We need to then filter those thoughts using the Word. Evaluate each thought and check if it aligns with the Bible and then cast aside anything evil that’s trying to take root.
It requires consistent effort to overcome habitual thinking and mental strongholds. But we can do all things through Christ who strenghthens us. The slightest thing you think about and then in turn – say – can influence someone else. Make them happy or sad. Make hell or make their day.
It is not easy to always THINK like Jesus, but with prayer, we can actively stop negative chains of thought by replacing those with God’s Word.
Do it – because – if you are more concerned about an offense and not about why you seem to getting offended by everyone and everything, the problem lies with YOU.
Think about what YOU are thinking about. Seek the Holy Spirit’s help to clear your mind.
You don’t need to think big when you’re trying to do what God wants you to do, in this world.
Think good. Think love. Then put the two together.
