Monday Reflection – Aug 3

When God asks you to do something, we sometimes ask for a confirmation. But that’s often true – especially when we don’t want to do the hard stuff.

When it’s about loving a lovable person or being nice when you want to, we don’t ask for a yes from God.

You don’t need confirmation from God, to love people and to help somebody. Not saying that one should not use discernment, but the Holy Spirit will constantly remind you to reach out to people, if you remain close Him. So just blessing if you can.

Confirmation of that kind is all over the Bible.

Jesus blessed his enemies. Think about that, the next time you don’t even want to help those you call your own.

He died for His enemies and you struggle to love even your friends?

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another” (John 13:34)

If you have even the remotest chance to help someone in genuine need, make someone’s day better and blot out some darkness in life, do it. The world needs you.

You shut out people based on status, gender, religion, education, class, your past encounters, slights you have imagined – and sometimes you end up alone.

The world would heal a lot, if all of us chose to love better and love more.

Give love and don’t expect anything in return. Even if you don’t get love back, GOD sees your heart.

That includes even strangers.

Cross over that line – with God-infused love in your heart.

Love above legalism.
