Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth…we pray, as part of the Lord’s prayer.
It’s what is happening DURING the process that matters. Personally, it’s a total surrender of our emotions, pains, gains, every aspect of life to Our Heavenly Father’s will. As a Christian, we pray that just as His will is obeyed perfectly in heaven, so may it be done more and more on earth.
A kingdom reflects a king. His citizens obey His rules, they reflect His nature. God wants His godly nature, His glory – to manifest in and through each one of us. God wants the earth to be filled with His full nature. People should look at us and see how heaven, His Kingdom is like – just by our lifestyle, our attitude, our disposition, our speech and our actions.
Agnostics and unbelievers bring up everything that is wrong with the world to blame God or deny His existence. Atheists curse God, but when faced with death, cry out frantically to God for help. It’s sad to wait that long when you know that Jesus is just a whisper away. Don’t deny GOD fellowship with you, because the world around you is messed up.
The Lord taught me a valuable lesson years ago. “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world (John 16;33)
Bad things happen to good people too. Bad things happened to Jesus. All His apostles were all brutally killed, except for John. The next generation of believers were thrown to the lions, shipwrecked, beaten, jailed, treated like scum – for HIS sake. Today, we see pain all around us. But just like soap being useless if not used, our religion is of no use if we do not use it to honour Christ and love and bless the people around us.
It’s easy to pray the Lord’s prayer, but to see it happening, do your part – OBEY Him, worship, meditate on scripture, then most importantly, live a life that honours Him.
One day, we are going to stand in front of God to be judged by Him. There will be saints who gladly went to their deaths to honour Him, then you and I will stand there whining about our small daily struggles, that offense, that trouble we faced. And we will hear of the many who truly, happily carried their crosses.
Let the way we live honour Christ at all times. We can fool people, but we cannot fool God.
Help His Kingdom come.
