Monday Reflection – August 7

Real friends will help you become all that God wants you to become – mould you – influence what you think, have, act and say.

While we comment and like online posts almost daily, many of us may not have the chance to hang out in real life. Time, distance, work, family, daily hectic routines – may keep us apart.

God did not create us for loneliness. We flourish best when we are best friends with HIM first, the one who is our eternal confidante.

We also need real friends who can pour into us and who we can pour into.

True friendship doesn’t just happen. We have to be intentional about building deep friendships, over the course of our lives. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says,“Two are better than one…if one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up.”

Sometimes, being open and accepting can get you lovely friendships from across the world, from a different race, age group, or culture.

Even random strangers deserve your love, respect and friendly nature.

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 27:9)

If you have a few friends of that kind, you are truly rich.

If you ARE that kind of friend to God and the people God brings into your life, you are richer.
