Monday Reflection – June 8

He is in the room. Behave like you know it.

Jesus is always around. Don’t cast Him aside in a box.

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8)

So, you and I can engage in continuous, silent prayers and maintain an awareness of JESUS throughout our daily mundane tasks – send up arrow prayers while you are stressed at work, while cooking, juggling endless chores, driving, preparing for that test or helping your child with homework.

Jesus sees it all. So ethical integrity matters: your thoughts, actions and speech even when you are alone, should align with what HE wants.

Being watched by GOD should encourage us to imitate Him more. Demonstrate the unconditional love and patience of Christ in our interactions with family, neighbours and even  strangers. Extend grace, His kind of mercy.

Last but not the least, because HE is around, solitude becomes beautiful. We can reframe moments of physical isolation as opportunities for deep communion with the Lord. Rather than battle loneliness or even worse, throw a pity party, we can put our feet up, relax and enjoy every moment with Him, leaning on the assurance that the Holy Spirit of God is our ever-present Comforter and guide.

Even children know how to get their act together when they are in the presence of authority. So how could we adults neglect to fear GOD who can judge us for each idle word, action? The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding (Proverbs 9:10)

Act as if you are constantly in His company. Cos we are. Always.
