Abba Father,
We bring to the foot of the Cross, every region in our world, facing war or strife right now.
Lord Jesus, King of Kings, our world needs Your love to reign. We ask You, Wonderful Counsellor, to grant wisdom to our leaders, enabling them to negotiate swift and safe resolutions, to establish lasting peace.
We ask You, Mighty God, to do what we humans cannot achieve and soften the hearts that are set on violence, leading them to repentance.
We ask You, Everlasting Father, to draw near to those who are most vulnerable. May the children, the elderly, the bereaved and the displaced, find comfort in Your loving arms.
We thank You, Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace, that in Your Kingdom, victory is not won through shedding the blood of our enemies, but by You shedding Your blood for even Your enemies.
Risen Jesus, We long for Your return, To make all things new. And we dream of the day when war will be a distant memory. When swords will be transformed into ploughshares. When our earth that has been scorched with fire and watered with bloodshed, will be refreshed by the rain of Your presence.
Lord Jesus, we pray for Your Holy Spirit’s intervention to end all war and bloodshed. Expose all evil intents and strategies. Protect us all from harm’s way.
Raise up heroes, champions of rights and peacemakers. Protect all soldiers from physical, mental and emotional harm. Strengthen their families. Help nations resolve to respect the value and dignity of human life. Defeat all selfish ambition, thirst for domination and greed for the resources of others.
Protect our nations from feuds, political fights, lies, revenge and rage. Help us have respect for all people and help us see them as your precious children.
Give us courage when we must resist evil in any form. We are one, in YOU.
May we reflect You to the suffering, Lord Jesus. And provide care for refugees of war to rebuild that which is destroyed.
We pray for a future when You promise that wars will cease. Arm us with prayer and love, until the peace of God reigns forever on earth.
