Heavenly Father,
We come to You asking for forgiveness on behalf of our brothers and sisters across the world who are living in the sin of adultery.
This sin has separated many from living in Your power and love and wreaked havoc, pain, and destruction in peoples’ spiritual lives, marriages, businesses, families and relationships.
We plead that You break this curse from our generation. Break the generational curse of adultery from families and set everyone free.
Merciful and gracious God, we ask that You would intervene in all marriages and relationships where adultery and infidelity have become a hidden sin. We pray for Your healing hand on every home, family, marriage and relationship that has been impacted and devastated by sexual sins and infidelity. We ask You to intervene in each situation where infidelity, fornication and adultery has caused such sadness, pain and loss of trust and affection, even in little children.
May You restore and heal all the broken marriages and relationships to shame the devil.
Heavenly and everlasting God, we also pray that You would revive the marriages of couples that have gone through the painful discovery that their spouse has been unfaithful and the devastating repercussions. Lord Jesus, give people the power to overcome the spirit of lust, great self control and the power to change their behaviour. May You restore peace, love, joy and trust in all troubled marriages, like only Your Holy Spirit can. Heavenly Father, we pray that You would disentangle the web of deceit and lies that is woven through an adulterous relationship and ask that in Your goodness and grace You would touch the hearts of both partners, so that godly repentance may be received with godly forgiveness – we ask this in Jesus Christ name. Amen.
If you are living in an adulterous relationship, break it off, truly repent and pray
“Heavenly Father, I come before You in humility and repentance for the sin of adultery. I confess that I have broken my marriage vows and committed a grave injustice against my spouse and my family. I ask for Your forgiveness and grace as I seek to make amends and repair the damage I have caused. Give me the strength to overcome this temptation and weakness and to fix the marriage I destroyed. May I be worthy of my spouse’s heart and her/his forgiveness, even if I do not deserve it. Help my spouse to find the grace and mercy to forgive my infidelity. I know you hate divorce, but you allow it when a spouse is unfaithful. You know my heart and the decisions I will make concerning my future, and I am responsible to you, my partner and our children. Guide me in my actions and decisions. Protect me from further temptation and guide me toward a path of repentance and reconciliation. May my spouse find healing and strength during this difficult time. Thank You for Your mercy and grace. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”
