All of us have a list of BIG prayers that need to be answered.
During the wait for those bigger dreams to be fulfilled, we often ignore or forget to acknowledge God for His mercies which are new every morning.
Two of Christ’s tender mercies that are very close to my heart: During the Covid season, we struggled to get fresh food, drinking water and other staples. After days of oats and pulses, I missed my daily dose of fresh tomatoes. One morning, I noticed that a sapling was growing from the large pipe that disposed of kitchen waste water. Within days, the plant grew so quickly and flowered and to my joy, produced green, fat tomatoes! (God’s hydroponics) It gave us much more than we needed daily and enough for our neighbours too; I counted 22 of them in one day. God sees. He knows the desires of our heart. And even before we ask, He answers.
We waited 14 years to buy a new small car. After struggling to get suitable parking, we ended up finding a small spot. Friends warned us that it was right below many large trees. A storm hit recently, many trees were uprooted, power was cut off and we woke up to crashing noises at dawn. My neighbour came running and alerted me. She told us that a large palm frond had fallen on our car. I went to check, keeping my praise up. He keeps us in perfect peace when our minds are stayed on Him and when you have no one else but God, you lean on Him. The Lord’s mighty arms had covered our car from harm. He used a flimsy guava tree and its sticklike branches to hold up the palm frond; only few tiny wet leaves remained on the car. The frond even stayed put until we pushed it off. Praying Psalm 91 works!
Sometimes, miracles come in big packages; sometimes we miss the ones that come as daily food or daily protection.
Jesus took such good care of you and me until now; what makes you think He is going to stop?
In your hunt for bigger miracles, never, never, never fail to thank JESUS for His daily blessings that we take so much for granted. In fact, thank Him for daily miracles on the way.
