It doesn’t have to take a war to understand how blessed we are to live in peace.
The Bible talks about peace that surpasses all human understanding: “They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD.”(Psalm 112:7)
This verse highlights that one needs to have a secure, unshakable heart that relies on God for strength, rather than being overwhelmed by fear, anxiety, or negative circumstances.
It is a proactive decision to trust God for what is unseen and to rest in His goodness.
How have you thanked GOD today for the daily blessings you take so much for granted?
JESUS, whose love for you took Him to the cross. Your faith, your family, your friends who are family, love, laughter and good health.
The food on the table, the little money in the bank, that lovely meal that you didn’t have to cook, your home, your car, your books, pets, music, movies and that sitcom that makes you laugh.
As for war, building better weapons does not heal, only love and respect for others heals. If the same effort that was made to improve our skills of fighting was used to improve our skills of tolerance, deeper communication and active efforts of peace, how different would our world be?
You and I can still do our bit. Begin with gratitude and faith. Pray for the suffering. Pray that the madness across the world ends. Help whoever you can, in whatever way you can, without prejudice.
And thank God daily.
Don’t wait to fall sick before you thank Jesus for health, to lose that job to understand the value of money, to lose a person before you learn to give love than to receive. To be hit by war to value peace.
You shouldn’t be longing for the past or striving for the future. Today matters. And today, you are safe. In a sad world, you have countless. reasons to be happy.
Remember to thank GOD for everything.
