Monday Reflection – Jan 26

It’s never cool to say that you are not getting adequate rest and sleep.

You and I are building our lives – hopefully in complete obedience to God. And even God ordained rest for all human beings.

We are a generation of men and women building ministries, families, careers, hooked on our devices, racing from one chore to another. Sometimes, we need to pause and get some rest. Sabbath rest and daily rest.

Never build homes empty of your presence, careers that merely bring in money, and ministries that are popular, but lack His anointing – because you don’t stay with Jesus and rest in Him. You will wear yourselves out.

Don’t be so self driven that you have no time to stop and enjoy the things that you are slogging for. Your may call it hard work, but its merely self-worship. Then you get stressed about your added toil.

Stress is a sign that you’re carrying what God should carry. “It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows…” That’s not “discipline.” That’s self-reliance, pretending to be virtue.

And while you are resting, always peg your life with the Word of and see if it is in agreement with Jesus’ plans. Remove anything that is against what He wants for you.

Learn also to spend regular quiet times with Him. And adequate sleep.

God gives His beloved rest. And if you do not get enough of it, your body will break down.

Our hustles mean nothing if they go against His will for us.
