If you are permitted into a room where there is gossip, YOU ARE NOT THERE BY ACCIDENT.
That’s an opportunity for you to pass the test – you are there to show God that you are going to take the high road, to reflect Jesus and show people – His daughter’s/son’s quality.
God will sometimes put you right into the centre of the mess. To help HEAL, not to add fuel to it. While gossip spreads flaws and causes division, a peacemaker acts as an “offense-mender” to promote peace and love and to restore clean conversations that build, not break.
Believers reflect God’s character. You can do that only with His Holy Spirit.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God” (Matthew 5:9) The seventh beatitude emphasises that those who actively reconcile, resolve conflict and foster peace – are identified as His children.
Peacemaking is not not merely passive appeasement. It is a call to courageous action, to transform help heal trauma, turn anger into love and build bridges.
Can you walk into a room filled with gossip and conflict, address injustice and help overcome evil with good? Dare to speak good about someone while the whole world is tearing them apart?
Matthew 12:36 warns that people will have to account for every “empty word” spoken.
Pray, fast and cry out to God for wisdom. Get rid of the muck in your rooms – homes, churches, offices, communities.
Purify your conversations. Heal you circle.
