Are you mad at God cos He seems to be dealing only with YOU?
You have suffering, you have health issues, family problems, issues at work and financial crunch. The world around seems happy, while you seem to be battling trauma after trauma.
Yet, when we ask around, we’ll know the reality: people all around us and people all over the world, are battling something or the other. So many people we know have faced death of loved ones, sickness, career losses, various calamities in the last one year alone. Some are facing terrorism, abuse and even war.
The Bible explains it well: James 1:2-4 encourages believers to ‘consider trials as joy because testing produces perseverance and maturity’. 1 Peter 4:12-13 advises believers ‘not to be surprised by fiery trials but to rejoice in sharing Christ’s sufferings’. 1 Peter 1:6-7 insists that ‘temporary suffering and trials refine faith, which is more precious than gold’. 1 Corinthians 10:13 reassures that ‘God is faithful and will not allow believers to be tempted beyond what they can bear, always providing a way of escape’. Romans 5:3-4 states that ‘suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope’. 2 Corinthians 13:5 encourages believers to ‘examine and test themselves to see if they are in the faith’.
There, you have it – the testing of believers’ faith is a universal experience, intended to produce endurance, character, and spiritual maturity. A treasure trove of blessings in disguise!
And yes, ALL of us suffer because we live in a fallen world. “Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world” (1 Peter 5:9)
Birthing requires pain. Pain is a sign God is trying to get something through you. Don’t walk away from the pain; it is simply the canal the blessing comes through.
Never be so engrossed with what’s hurting you that you are not doing what it takes to produce God’s fruit in your life. The pain will be forgotten when you hold His reward.
Fight the good fight (1Tim 6:12)
