Monday Reflection – April 28

We’d speak a lot differently if we are truly aware that GOD listens to every conversation, even the ones behind closed doors. And every conversation begins in your heart.

People speak a lot of evil in private – things that are prejudicial, racist, communal, filthy, judgemental or plain gossipy.

We know that the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. If your heart is unhealthy, it shows. It threatens your speech, your daily interactions, affects your family, friends, your ministry, your career and eventually, your legacy.

The Bible asks us to guard our hearts. Proverbs 4:23 states, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Your heart is the source of your actions, thoughts, and overall life direction. Seek to have the Holy Spirit dwelling in your heart.

Be selective about what you watch, who you listen to, what you read, what you feed on, who you associate with and what you eventually speak out. Don’t stain your beautiful heart with sin and don’t give anyone or anything the power to stain it with evil. Even a jar filled with the finest perfume or roses can still smell awful one day, if one tiny piece of dirt is thrown into it. We cannot let evil in, it will rot our hearts. KEEP your heart holy, pure.

Focus on honouring JESUS with your life, read and meditate on the Word of God daily, which can help shift your mindset.

Your heart is extremely valuable. We don’t guard worthless things. If you lose your heart, you lose everything. So guard it at all costs.

Brood on evil and you give birth to sin. Think Christ-ward and Christ-like – and you bring out only good from you heart.
