It’s amazing how even followers of Christ – the epitome of love – can block love.
They resist love and block it between others too, with their ‘good-intentioned’ warnings and gossip.
No one should block your goal to give unconditional, Jesus-led love.
And no one should ever be permitted to recruit you to their own bandwagon of hate.
1 John 2:9-11 highlights that claiming to be in the light (knowing God) while hating a fellow believer is a contradiction, marking a state of spiritual darkness. Loving others is evidence of being in the light, while hatred blinds a person.
The world can and will gossip about how naive you are – if you love ALL PEOPLE – without prejudice. That is between them and GOD. Every idle word spoken will be judged by Him.
Meanwhile, you have pour out and to keep on pouring out unconditional love into a world that is bruised and broken.
Think of all those people you just can’t stand and merely don’t put them in your prayer list cos that’s easier, or judge them over and over. Just love them and show it.
People can reject your love, refuse your love, misunderstand your love, discount it, spit on it, ignore it, impugn it, but they cannot stop you from loving them.
Others can hold your love in scorn, crown your love with thorns, and nail your love to a cross of shame, but they cannot stop you from loving them.
THAT is Christ in you.
