Our greatest identity – ‘I am a Child of GOD’.
If you try to get your identity from worldly things, that image can fracture. And unexpectedly. And destroy you.
You are proud of your job title – but that can be lost anytime. Or retirement will wring it out of you. Any of us, even the most skilled ones, can be replaced.
Your identity comes from your relationships – but those fail too. Some stay, some move away, some even die. Some leave you broken. People fail you, JESUS never will.
If you are known by what you own, you will get broken if you lost all or even some of it. And you will always need to own more to keep yourselves and others happy.
As for achievements, name, fame, there will always be someone to beat, a new target to achieve and a new crown you long for. And you will have to do more and more to fit in.
When you chase what’s empty, you can never be full of Christ.
For the five “I wills” of Satan (I will – ascend into heaven, exalt my throne above the stars of God, sit upon the mount of the congregation, ascend above the heights of the clouds and be like the Most High) Christ took a blow upon Himself in Calvary, that resounded powerfully – NO.
The humility of Christ, extinguished the arrogance of Satan. You don’t need things, people, titles to validate you. Your validation comes from JESUS – He died for you to get you a place in heaven.
Please Lord Jesus, keep us humble, surrendered and at peace.
Whatever happens to us, let us remember who we are in CHRIST. A son/daughter of the King, our Living GOD.
A prince/princess. THAT never changes. So think, walk and act like it – carry His glory into rooms.
“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” (Romans 8:14)
If your crown is a little skewed, adjust it with Christ’s help, hold onto Him tightly and move ahead.
