Monday Reflection – Feb 9

Honest conversations with JESUS – those give Him room to work.

Your posture matters.

Remaining religious but lukewarm, doesn’t count. Staying cut off from GOD doesn’t work either.

Obedience to GOD means you have to be willing to confront hard facts/buried pain in your life. Sit with Him and tackle old wounds – one by one. Are there wounds, lies, or sins you’ve been soothing instead of surrendering?

“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” (Ephesians 5:11) Some things are not meant to be micro-managed – only removed. Sitting with GOD means you need to seek out the root of your pain, deal with it and not bury it for the sake of peace, like you always do.

Do not let the cycle of damage continue.

“Can a man carry fire next to his chest and not be burned?” (Proverbs 6:27) Do not treat any kind of sin/trauma/pain/abuse as harmless familiarity.

What good is your faith/prayer/Bible reading if it’s never applied to your deepest pain? If your walk with JESUS is not transforming YOU, you’ve got a problem.

It’s not that something is wrong with you – it may be that control was simply never surrendered. You were carrying trauma which was never meant to be carried. It has to be put down at the foot of the Cross and dealt with by Him.

Ask the Holy Spirit to search you – not to shame you, but to free you. To be born again, you must die first. “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” (John 12:24)

He came to set the captives FREE. “Search me, O God, and know my heart… and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23–24) What would obedience look like if you genuinely believed God is enough?

Give HIM room to work on you. ALL those broken and buried parts of you.

Confess that you’ve tried to manage what God asked you to surrender. Talk about people/things/situations that you held close, even when God warned you they were dangerous.

Only obedience can truly remove what you tried to contain all these years.

Thank You, Jesus for pulling all of us out of our own prisons. For pulling us out of what we would have never left on our own.

Lord Jesus, lead me from Your point of rest, not striving. Heal what has been poisoned and restore what was entrusted to me. Apart from You, I can do nothing—but with You, I lack nothing.
