Have you noticed how quiet prayer warriors shake the nations, communities and homes, while celebrated ‘prayer leaders’ often do not?
Some ministry leaders may be recognised, may have thousands of followers, have a stunning social media presence, but lack something that your praying parent, friend or simple pastor seem to have.
For a study of theology, you may look up that popular minister on YouTube.
But to pray for an immediate personal need, who do you reach out to? It is often someone who is not recognised, not someone who has a stage, someone even unheard of. But their prayers and authority are backed by heaven.
And you know they care – like Jesus did – for you. They will not sideline you for their ministry stage, because you are their ministry. They reflect HIS Spirit.
That is anointing. Anointed people can stay silent and walk into a room, but carry His glory there. They can be reached out for a prayer intervention and their prayers matter. When they speak, hell shakes.
They may not be perfect, but they lay their flaws to the Lord and live in His grace daily. They seek His will and do what He tells them to do.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me (John 10:270)
Satan hates them, attacks them, stirs up trouble for them, badmouths them through even their own inner circle, but heaven recognises their authority, because it comes from JESUS.
They do not use His name merely at the end of a prayer, but they know Him, cry out to Him, love Him, spend time in His presence and mainly, OBEY Him, no matter what the cost. That is intimacy.
You and I know they are there for us. They love you like Jesus.
They do not quote the Bible, they try to live it. Even on their hardest days. They do not borrow authority from a human leader or organisation, they get it from their submission to Christ.
Do not ape them, but go to JESUS, who is their source.
Without Christ, I am nothing.
