Just one. One thought, action, decision, person, situation or word – can mess up your life forever.
Wars have started, families shattered, homes broken, companies sunk, accidents, crime and crises initiated by just one thing, which eventually spiralled out of control.
Satan does not lay the whole plan before us before he makes us fall. Just one act of disobedience made Eve fall. Fall for his bait and you are done.
God has given us free will. Life and death are in front of you. “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19)
The decisions that we make can affect our well-being and future. They also have the potential to change the story for generations. Pick wisely. Set your sails daily. To safety, not to sin and destruction. Right now, in your own home, you can make life-changing decisions, initiate positive changes and speak and act godly.
Can we make once false turn and still come back? Yes, Jesus is the God of second chances. But we will lose precious time in the process, like the prodigal son, leaving much heartbreak in the wake. And then come back with a lot of bruises which we and others need to heal from.
How to choose wisely and not make that one mistake? LEARN to listen to GOD, build up intimacy with JESUS. Always heed the voice of the Holy Spirit. If anything is toxic, set boundaries or move away.
What is inside of you decides how we act, speak or behave. Soak in JESUS. So when situations press in, His joy, love and peace comes out.
If JESUS says no to that thought, action, decision, person, situation or word, it means NO. And if He says YES, don’t look back and don’t give in to naysayers.
The Holy Spirit is the best judge of things ever.
