Jesus: You have heard it said, but I say…
You have heard yourself and the enemy say: “I will do this, if God speaks, reveals it, leads me to it.”
What about flipping it??
Jesus IS now saying to you: Forgive, give, be loving, and also: heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, make disciples, be a disciple first. Be a kid of Dad – BE best friends – paid by the cross!
I release you to speak and act in faith. I say – everything Jesus commanded His disciples – He still commands today.
What about obeying this first – because He first obeyed His complete love for you and me (Luke 14:33): If you do not give up everything you have, you cannot be my disciples. And (Luke 9:23): Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. And (John 12:24): Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
Flip it: I will dream of, be hungry for, grow in and do what He commanded all disciples to do back then.
I will not wait for a revelation. I will not wait to see “if I have the gift”. We all have the gift: of the fullness and full power of Holy Spirit. He has all the gifts.
We have the full authority – in the name of Jesus. We have the ability to decide to be obedient. To stop being disobedient. We have been given to rule, reign, decide, be mature, take responsibility. We have been given the identity of the beloved through the cross of suffering. We have been given the same gift of suffering – already.
So go do it with blessing, authority, boldness, freedom – as if an angel and Jesus, and the Father, and Holy Spirit commanded you to do it – for they have, and they still are commanding us to do it.
On the basis of being it – do it.
Matt 28:20 – ”teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
Done! Read and do! That is love and the will of God for all of us. For you too.
