Father’s Day fun ideas

In Finding Nemo, the popular animated children’s film, there is a quiet desperation and resolve one can sense in Marlin in the search for his son.

Dads are like that.

Not overly emotional, but feel the need to intensely love and protect their children just the same.

Dads are nothing but superheroes without a cape. And a man as lovable and magnanimous deserves nothing short of a spectacular Father’s Day celebration.

Culinary Bonds

World renowned Chef, Jamie Oliver says cooking is the ultimate giving. Rustle up a special meal this Father’s Day and celebrate by eating together with the entire family. If you want, here are some recipes for a main course meal.

Cook Dad’s favourite barbeque items on an electric barbeque grill and serve chilled drinks in funky boot shaped glasses. Set up the table with gorgeous black and gold bamboo placemats, flower shaped napkin holders and a glass vase flower arrangement to adorn the table. Nothing like bonding over food.

Travel Tales

Remember when Dad used to take you camping? Revisit the most wonderful childhood memories with a weekend trip along with dad. Time spent with you will be the best Father’s Day gift you can give him.

Make a weekend bag filled with gifts for dad. The wildcraft backpacks are handy and can store a lot of stuff. Unisex glasses to block the harsh glare, a book to unwind like Himalaya by Ruskin Bond, a handy car charger and a notebook so he can capture special moments of the trip for posterity.

Movie or outdoor times

If your father enjoys nothing more than watching old movies, then we have some great Father’s Day gift ideas for you. Bring movies alive in various forms. Choose from fun barware like large mugs and glasses. Books are a timeless gifts for men. Help him travel through the power struggles and the rise to the top of his favourite actors with autobiographies.

Teaching the child life skills like climbing trees, learning to ride a bicycle, swimming in the river and simply learning to love life are just some of the things that our fathers taught us. Spend time with them outdoors if thats what you enjoy. A game, or some fun in the sunshine.

Fathers help us see how beautiful this world can be. Help him see how much that means to you and how he has opened your world.
