Tyson Fury prays for sick child

Heavyweight world champion, Tyson Fury, shared an emotional video of him praying for River Rhodes, a seven-year-old boy suffering with cancer.

“Heavenly Father, I ask in the mighty name of Jesus, to heal this little boy River,” Fury can be heard saying in the video as he hugs River.

“Take him into your hands and heal him with your Holy hands Lord, this a little baby child Lord, he has committed no sin, in the mighty name of Jesus, heal this baby, Amen”.

River responded on Twitter, as he posted the video and said, “Thank you for the prayer, champ.”

River was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer of soft tissue which accounts for 53 per cent of childhood cancers in 2021 after his mum noticed his eye was starting to droop.

He has since started chemotherapy which will last until December.

Fury visited the boy as he tours the UK with his series of shows “After Party”, as he takes some time off following his victory against Dillian Whyte in April.

Rhodes and Fury later played football together in the same corridor seen in the video.

The boy’s battle has touched the heart of many other sports figures, including Manchester United captain Harry McGuire who dedicated a goal to him.

While it can be difficult to look for silver linings in these awful situations, River, who is a huge Wolves and football fan in general, has managed to meet a number of his sporting idols recently.

He has met the likes of Mason Mount, Wayne Rooney, Adama Traore, Harry Maguire and even Cristiano Ronaldo, who posted about his encounter with Rhodes on social media.

Ronaldo shared a picture of the pair fist-bumping with the caption, “Children are and will always be the best thing the world has to offer, and we must protect them at all costs.

“Supporters are and will always be the best in football, and we must respect everything they face and endure for their clubs.”
