Prayer against natural calamities

Lord Jesus, today we bring to You every place on earth that is facing a natural calamity right now.

Son of God, who commanded the winds and the waves, please have mercy on our world. We specially pray for those affected right now by cyclones, hurricanes, flooding, landslides, bad roads, excess rain and power and drinking water supply disruptions.

A prayer of mercy for those who are travelling or stuck at strange places, unable to reach home and for their loved ones far away. Be with and hold all those holding necessary and high risk jobs such as healthcare, media, police and emergency services during such hard times.

Compassionate God, source of all comfort, we pray for the people whose lives have been affected this week by pounding rains, landslides and flooding. Bring them Your comfort, we pray.

Protect the vulnerable and strengthen the weak. Keep at bay the spread of disease. Have mercy on all those working to rescue the stranded and to feed the hungry.

And may our response to their suffering be generous and bring You praise.

Father God, let Your protection and the Blood of Jesus keep us and all our loved ones across the world safe.

Amen.
